Using local quantum operations on their respective subsystems, and\r\nunlimited classical communication, Alice and Bob may be able to transform |ψ\u0002 into\r\nanother state |φ\u0002. Famously, Nielsen’s theorem [28] provides a necessary and sufficient\r\nalgebraic criterion for such a transformation to be possible (namely, the entanglement\r\nspectrum of |φ\u0002 should majorise the entanglement spectrum of |ψ\u0002). In the paper where\r\nNielsen proved this theorem, he conjectured that in the limit of large dimensionality, for\r\nalmost all pairs of states |ψ\u0002, |φ\u0002 (according to the natural unitary invariant measure) such\r\na transformation is not possible. That is to say, typical pairs of quantum states |ψ\u0002, |φ\u0002\r\nare entangled in fundamentally different ways, that cannot be converted to each other via\r\nlocal operations and classical communication.ViaNielsen’s theorem, this conjecture can\r\nbe equivalently stated as a conjecture about majorisation of spectra of random matrices\r\nfrom the so-called trace-normalised complex Wishart–Laguerre ensemble. Concretely,\r\nlet X and Y be independent n × m random matrices whose entries are i.i.d. standard\r\ncomplex Gaussians; then Nielsen’s conjecture says that the probability that the spectrum\r\nof XX†/ tr(XX†) majorises the spectrum of YY†/ tr(YY†) tends to zero as both n and\r\nm grow large. We prove this conjecture, and we also confirm some related predictions\r\nof Cunden et al. Since the density of states typically exhibits only square root edge or cubic root cusp singularities, our result completes the proof of the Wigner–Dyson–Mehta universality conjecture in all spectral regimes for a very general class of random matrices. Previously only the bulk and the edge universality were established in this generality (Alt et al. in Ann Probab 48(2):963–1001, 2020), while cusp universality was proven only for Wigner-type matrices with independent entries (Cipolloni et al. in Pure Appl Anal 1:615–707, 2019; Erdős et al. in Commun. Math. Phys. 378:1203–1278, 2018). As our main technical input, we prove an optimal local law at the cusp using the Zigzag strategy, a recursive tandem of the characteristic flow method and a Green function comparison argument. Moreover, our proof of the optimal local law holds uniformly in the spectrum, thus we also provide a significantly simplified alternative proof of the local eigenvalue universality in the previously studied bulk (Erdős et al. in Forum Math. Our results are derived by a joint use of recently studied hypercontractivity and gradient estimates. These generic tools also allow us to derive generalizations of these results in a general von Neumann algebraic setting beyond the case of the quantum hypercube, including examples in infinite dimensions relevant to quantum information theory such as continuous variables quantum systems. Finally, we comment on the implications of our results as regards to noncommutative extensions of isoperimetric type inequalities, quantum circuit complexity lower bounds and the learnability of quantum observables.","lang":"eng"}],"external_id":{"isi":["001199509500004"],"pmid":["38606337"],"arxiv":["2209.07279"]}},{"abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"We prove the Eigenstate Thermalization Hypothesis for general Wigner-type matrices in the bulk of the self-consistent spectrum, with optimal control on the fluctuations for obs ervables of arbitrary rank. We rigorously prove the physics prediction on SFF up to an intermediate time scale for a large class of random matrices using a robust method, the multi-resolvent local laws. Beyond Wigner matrices we also consider the monoparametric ensemble and prove that universality of SFF can already be triggered by a single random parameter, supplementing the recently proven Wigner–Dyson universality (Cipolloni et al. in Probab Theory Relat Fields, 2021. https://doi.org/10.1007/s00440-022-01156-7) to larger spectral scales. Remarkably, extensive numerics indicates that our formulas correctly predict the SFF in the entire slope-dip-ramp regime, as customarily called in physics.","lang":"eng"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"isi":1,"corr_author":"1","user_id":"2DF688A6-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","publication":"Communications in Mathematical Physics","intvolume":" 401","citation":{"short":"G. For Wigner matrices this improves the previous rate O(N^{-2/9+\\omega }) obtained by Bourgade (J Eur Math Soc, 2021) for generalized Wigner matrices. Our result follows from a Green function comparison theorem, originally introduced by Erdős et al. (Adv Math 229(3):1435–1515, 2012) to prove edge universality, on a finer spectral parameter scale with improved error estimates. The proof relies on the continuous Green function flow induced by a matrix-valued Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. Precise estimates on leading contributions from the third and fourth order moments of the matrix entries are obtained using iterative cumulant expansions and recursive comparisons for correlation functions, along with uniform convergence estimates for correlation kernels of the Gaussian invariant ensembles."}],"author":[{"full_name":"Schnelli, Kevin","first_name":"Kevin","orcid":"0000-0003-0954-3231","id":"434AD0AE-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","last_name":"Schnelli"},{"last_name":"Xu","full_name":"Xu, Yuanyuan","first_name":"Yuanyuan","id":"7902bdb1-a2a4-11eb-a164-c9216f71aea3","orcid":"0000-0003-1559-1205"}],"article_processing_charge":"No","publication_status":"published","doi":"10.1007/s00220-022-04377-y","date_created":"2022-04-24T22:01:44Z","publication_identifier":{"eissn":["1432-0916"],"issn":["0010-3616"]},"oa_version":"Published Version","publisher":"Springer Nature","_id":"11332","title":"Convergence rate to the Tracy–Widom laws for the largest Eigenvalue of Wigner matrices","article_type":"original","tmp":{"name":"Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License (CC-BY 4.0)","short":"CC BY (4.0)","image":"/images/cc_by.png","legal_code_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode"},"oa":1,"date_published":"2022-07-01T00:00:00Z","volume":393,"month":"07"},{"title":"Orbital stability of KdV multisolitons in H-1","article_type":"original","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2009.06746"}],"publisher":"Springer Nature","_id":"22043","date_published":"2022-02-01T00:00:00Z","OA_place":"repository","das_tickbox":"1","oa":1,"volume":389,"month":"02","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"extern":"1","user_id":"2DF688A6-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","intvolume":" 389","citation":{"mla":"Killip, Rowan, and Monica Vişan. “Orbital Stability of KdV Multisolitons in H-1.” Communications in Mathematical Physics, vol. 389, no. 3, Springer Nature, 2022, pp. 1445–73, doi:10.1007/s00220-021-04280-y.","apa":"Killip, R., & Vişan, M. As opposed to topological theories, in area-dependent theories the state spaces can be infinite-dimensional. We introduce the notion of regularised Frobenius algebras in Hilbert spaces and show that area-dependent theories are in one-to-one correspondence to commutative regularised Frobenius algebras. The theory of smoothing allows us to prove that under certain conditions there exists the pointwise minimal function among all integer-valued superharmonic functions coinciding with F “at infinity”. We develop such a theory to prove existence of so-called solitons (or strings) in a sandpile model, studied by S. Caracciolo, G. Paoletti, and A. Sportiello. Thus we made a step towards understanding the phenomena of the identity in the sandpile group for planar domains where solitons appear according to experiments. We prove that sandpile states, defined using our smoothing procedure, move changeless when we apply the wave operator (that is why we call them solitons), and can interact, forming triads and nodes. These pairs can be approximately described by a bosonic quadratic Hamiltonian. Since the density of states typically exhibits only square root or cubic root cusp singularities, our work complements previous results on the bulk and edge universality and it thus completes the resolution of the Wigner–Dyson–Mehta universality conjecture for the last remaining universality type in the complex Hermitian class. Our analysis holds not only for exact cusps, but approximate cusps as well, where an extended Pearcey process emerges. As a main technical ingredient we prove an optimal local law at the cusp for both symmetry classes. This result is also the key input in the companion paper (Cipolloni et al. in Pure Appl Anal, 2018. arXiv:1811.04055) where the cusp universality for real symmetric Wigner-type matrices is proven. The novel cusp fluctuation mechanism is also essential for the recent results on the spectral radius of non-Hermitian random matrices (Alt et al. in Spectral radius of random matrices with independent entries, 2019. arXiv:1907.13631), and the non-Hermitian edge universality (Cipolloni et al. in Edge universality for non-Hermitian random matrices, 2019. arXiv:1908.00969)."}],"author":[{"id":"4DBD5372-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","orcid":"0000-0001-5366-9603","full_name":"Erdös, László","first_name":"László","last_name":"Erdös"},{"last_name":"Krüger","orcid":"0000-0002-4821-3297","id":"3020C786-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","full_name":"Krüger, Torben H","first_name":"Torben H"},{"full_name":"Schröder, Dominik J","first_name":"Dominik J","id":"408ED176-F248-11E8-B48F-1D18A9856A87","orcid":"0000-0002-2904-1856","last_name":"Schröder"}],"file_date_updated":"2020-11-18T11:14:37Z","oa_version":"Published Version","publication_identifier":{"eissn":["1432-0916"],"issn":["0010-3616"]},"publication_status":"published","doi":"10.1007/s00220-019-03657-4","date_created":"2019-03-28T10:21:15Z","article_processing_charge":"Yes (via OA deal)","publication":"Communications in Mathematical Physics","citation":{"apa":"Erdös, L., Krüger, T. We consider the interaction potential to be given either by Wβ(x)=N−1+2βW(Nβx), for any β>0, or to be given by VN(x)=e2NV(eNx), for some spherical symmetric, nonnegative and compactly supported W,V∈L∞(R2,R). In both cases we prove the convergence of the reduced density corresponding to the exact time evolution to the projector onto the solution of the corresponding nonlinear Schrödinger equation in trace norm. For the latter potential VN we show that it is crucial to take the microscopic structure of the condensate into account in order to obtain the correct dynamics.","lang":"eng"}],"publication_status":"published","article_processing_charge":"Yes (via OA deal)","date_created":"2019-11-25T08:08:02Z","doi":"10.1007/s00220-019-03599-x","oa_version":"Published Version","publication_identifier":{"eissn":["1432-0916"],"issn":["0010-3616"]},"publication":"Communications in Mathematical Physics","intvolume":" 372","citation":{"mla":"Jeblick, Maximilian, et al. “Derivation of the Time Dependent Gross–Pitaevskii Equation in Two Dimensions.” Communications in Mathematical Physics, vol. 372, no. 1, Springer Nature, 2019, pp. 1–69, doi:10.1007/s00220-019-03599-x.","apa":"Jeblick, M., Leopold, N.
